The Duskbloods Weapons: What the Network Test Confirmed
How weapons, close-range attacks, long-range attacks, Bloodsworn skills, and temporary Blood Powers worked in The Duskbloods Network Test.
A weapon is only one part of a Bloodsworn
The Network Test did not present a giant loot list to compare by damage number. Instead, each of the six playable Bloodsworn arrived with a fixed weapon and their own close-range and long-range performance. That gives a character a recognizable starting identity, but it does not lock the whole match into one playstyle.
Bloodsworn skills, passive Authorities, a vassal, and temporary Blood Powers all change what a character can do after the match begins. A weapon tells you how a character opens a fight; the rest of the system determines how that fight develops.
What was confirmed in the test build
| Combat layer | What the Network Test showed |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Fixed to the selected Bloodsworn. |
| Close-range attack | Available to every test character. |
| Long-range attack | Available to every test character, with different performance by character. |
| Bloodsworn skill | Character-specific active ability; a second skill could unlock through levelling. |
| Authority | Two passive effects attached to each test character. |
| Blood Power | Temporary upgrades chosen after defeating major threats. |
This is why an early “best weapon” list would be premature. The test did not show every planned character or every retail customization option, and the game’s choices are designed to stack together.
Ranged attacks change the pace
The long-range option is important because it gives every Bloodsworn a way to influence a fight before committing to close quarters. That does not mean every character is a gun specialist, or that ranged damage wins every exchange. It means positioning, cover, vertical movement, and timing matter even for a player who prefers melee.
The City of Roanlow test field had vertical routes and fast travel points, so the best moment to pressure from range was often about where a fight was happening—not only which character was holding the weapon.
What we still need before a real tier list
- The final character roster and fixed weapons
- Retail skill and Authority pools
- Upgrade and balance changes after the test
- Complete damage, status, and move data
Until those details are official, the most useful weapon guide explains roles and trade-offs instead of inventing rankings.
